We had a wonderful stay at Backwaters Cabin. The drive itself is scenic, especially passing by the Suzlon Energy windmill project with rows of majestic windmills along the way.

The stay was very comfortable with a peaceful ambience, perfect for unwinding. The local food—both veg and non-veg—was excellent, fresh, and full of authentic flavors.

The service truly stood out. Mr. Amit and Mr. Jadhavrao are exceptional hosts—very courteous, attentive, and always ready to help, which made our stay even more pleasant.

The sunset point is beautiful and not to be missed. Overall, a relaxing and memorable experience. Highly recommended and a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy nature, great food, and warm hospitality.

We visited in the month of August during janmashtami. The food and hospitality was incomparable.
Since we were fasting on janmastami, the Owner himself had prepared special food for fasting for us.

It was delicious. We really appreciate the extra efforts that the owner had put in.
He and his team always gave Quick response to queries and needs. And their behaviour is very friendly.
The location is mesmerizing.
Rooms are also good and on the river bank. Only drawback is that during heavy rainfall the weather becomes extremely humid and non AC rooms become damp. So either book AC rooms during rains or go in summer or winter
We would love to visit again.

Our stay at Backwater Cabins was absolutely memorable. The place offers stunning views of Koyna dam backwaters and the natural beauty of Sahyradris. Nestled far away from the hustle bustle of city life, i highly recommend this place to recharge yourself.

Kathi Hills are also home to a large windfarm with great all-round scenery.

Koyna Dam

The Koyna Dam is one of the largest dams in Maharashtra. Constructed onKoyna River near Mahabaleshwar. Koyna Dam is famous for its breath-taking view and natural surroundings.

Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary

Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary is a Natural World Heritage Site, which is located in Satara district of the Indianstate of Maharashtra. The sanctuary is nested in the Western Ghats, It forms the northern portion of the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, with Chandoli National Park forming the southern part of the reserve.

Bhairavgad Fort

Bhairavgad is located in the Koynanagar, which is now part of Sahyadri Tiger Reserve. The forest around this fort acts like a wildlife corridor between Koyna and Chandoli forests. The Bhairav temple and Shivaji Maharaj Idol is huge attraction amongst the tourists.

TrekkingKaas Plateue of Flowers & Wind Energy Park

The Kaas Pathar or Kas Sadas is also known as the Plateau of flowers. It is situated 25 kilometres west from Satara city in Maharashtra. It became part of a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2012.

ShivSagar Lake

ShivSagar Lake is a huge lake in the koyna Dam. Boating facility is available in this lake. The Koyna wildlife sanctuary surrounding the lake is rich in flaura and fauna. During the boat ride one can sometimes spot wild animals like tiger, leopard and other wild animals.

Ozarde Waterfall

This is one of the biggest water falls in Sahayadri region. The water falls from 200 meter height and its beauty can be seen in monsoon as well as summer. One has to trek through dense vegetation to get near the waterfall.
